Bruce has already replied via Ballad-L, to the effect that some of it sounds more like a pop song than a traditional piece.  There's some borrowing from traditional idiom (it would sing to Here's Adieu To All Judges and Juries, for example) but I too suspect "contemporary folk", as we used to call it.  There were a lot of people writing in that sort of style 30-odd years back, and it could as easily be English or American as Irish.  It also seems to be quite obscure, so we'll probably just have to hope that someone stops by who happens to recognise it...

Oh, I misread the question from James Gordon, by the way; he's the record's producer, but there's no connection with CeltArctic; they just forwarded the message from a Canadian newsgroup.
