Locally-grown fruits and veggies cannot compare to the jet-flown and trucked-in exotic fare at the supermarkets.
They are fresher, riper, more nutritious, and since they grow in our local areas, they help us better ward off local germs, allergens, etc.
Don't even THINK you'll ever get me to eat corn on the cob that was picked more than a few hours ago...
Kendall, I did actually have some decent California strawberries the other day; but it is rare indeed.
Hmm, I think I shall go gather some fresh nettles today and make soup...
