Being a 'rock chick' at heart, I was very sad to see the demise of the Marquee club/s. the original club in Wardour Street was where I saw my first proper gig, Marillion etc. At the "New Marquee" on Charing Cross Road I saw bands like Wolfsbane, The Wildhearts, Poison and many others that never quite seemed to make it, regardless of their talent. Its closing seemed to mark the end of my total involvement in rock. Sigh.
