Nope - it's an optical illusion. touch it and it goes away. *grin* actually it is called "bloom" and isn't even skin deep. it is a very thin layer on top of the skin of the fruit. but under that, nope, the stuff isn't blue. Some plums have a blue bloom as well - but same thing - it actually wipes off; and if the fruit is handled much at all before cunsumption, let alone cooked, it won't be blue. According to the nutrition courses I took there is no naturally occuring blue food.Leastwise that's what they taught me at that place I'm still paying for 25 years later.
