BS aside, America is a pretty nice place, and that includes the US. We have people of every conceivable type, and some that you'd need to stretch some to believe. Most US citizens are pretty moderate in most respects, although we have our extremists on the right, left, and other directions as well. As the folks in the US southeast say, "ya'll come see us, hear!".
