Hi, I'm the red headed American. I did ask around for you, Dita, but didn't know your last name and accosted several people asking if they were you who didn't know what Mudcat was and they got very confused. Congrats to you guys who won in trad singing and songwriting - loved the version of Wild Rover. I entered the traditional singing competition because when I came in the room at 11:00, when the competition was supposed to start they said they only had one applicant and needed more. Then lots of folks signed up and I was getting pretty nervous and wishing I hadn't picked a Scottish song to sing in front of a bunch of Scots. I was glad I did it, however, as it broke the ice and a lot of singers came up and talked with me afterward and some of them taught me songs. What a great festival! I came over with seven musicians from Northern Ireland and spent most of the time at informal sessions - that's why I didn't spot you, Dita, when you MC'd. Hope it won't be the last Girvan Festival I attend.
