I think I never missed Perry Como's show in the fifties. "Letters, we get letters ..". It used to be followed by "Sporst Report" on the BBC in those days; I always remember one night he closed with "And now over to Peter Dimmick (sic).", to my utter astonishment. He was in America-how did he know about the BBC schedule?
