I agree that one can't judge too harshly in hindsight, however, when one looks at the way some French company's and the French banking industry acted after occupation and before the nazificaiton of French law, you undertand the saying that if everyone who was in the French undergraound after the war was in the French undergraound during the war, the Nazi's would not have been able to stay in France. But Russia does have vast land mass and wether on it's side, as well as fear of state terror, but also real nationalist fervor in resisting the nazis. - Cheers Larry
