Hi Steve, Cliquishness is not always either concious or a result of bad intentions. It is often that folks tend to hire the bands they are used to ... and some bands have to struggle like hell to get noticed - swim up streem. An example is the way the Irish Republican community hires Morning Star to play at every event. Fact is they are a wonderful band and Mary is a good a pal as I can name. However, it makes it immossible to get newer bands going. After thrity years of activism, after busking on the streets of every englsih speaking city - queit a few towns, and a few french speaking places as well, after supporting other bands, there just comes a time when one has to start standing up for one's propers. So... think of some of us in the margins, when booking is all I ask. - Larry
