Though most of Tom Lewis's recorded material is of modern composed songs, it must be noted that he did win 1st prize last year in a chantey competition (can't remember where it was held - could be the Hugill award). SeanM, I just got a CD you recommended, Traditional English Sea Songs & Shanties From The Last Days Of Sail, and it's every good thing you say it is. Would not have known of it otherwise. I love this site!
