My greatest memory of the last general election was the downall of Michael Portillo (although gracious in defeat). It was in the early hours of the morning and on the announcement I let out a great cry of both amazement and joy. Simultaneously I could hear Whoops of delight and peels of laughter from virtually every single household within earshot.
