A psychologist friend of mine says that putting Yankee Doodle into your head works- that no one obsessively sings YD so you have to keep putting it in. In the process, any other tunes are crowded out.

In my experience, it works. Yesterday morning I woke with 'good night, good night, good night; Oh, I bid you good night, good night, good night' running repetitively through my head- near drove me bonkers. Put in Yankee Doodle and though for awhile the next line came up Good night, good night, etc, it wasn't long before my brain gave up. My brain can only handle so much.
