Martin Carthy was the third British folk musician I discovered - after The Spinners and Hamish Imlach. I'm glad I made it that far!
Martin's first album is one of my all-time favourites. I can't believe it's 35 years old! So, happy birthday, Martin, and all the best for the next sixty years (plus a thought for his wife, who also happens to be one of my favourite singers).
