Some software manufacturers include logic in their code that identifies your usage pattern and reports it back to the Marketing Department, where it adds to long lists that can either be analyzed for market advantage or sold as prospects depending on what is reported.It is one of those odd things that is morally reprehensible and yet somehow legally and condoned as a means of improving market share.
