Subject: Camping Robin Hoods Bay folk weekend
For those going to the RHB festival on 8th - 10th June, here is further info should you be camping. I have phoned Middlewood camp site in Fylingthorpe and they confirm that they are open. This site has great facilities but access to RHB is usually via either the disused railway track or shortcut across the fields. Both of these routes are closed because of MAFF restrictions, and although the owner is hoping that these will be lifted soon it means that folks have to go via road to RHB, so walking back at night might be a bit of a haul. The other campsite I phoned is Hook House farm which is on the main road down to RHB and is walkable. Now this is a working farm but the animals have been grazed well away from the campsite area. However this weekend is the first time she has opened it up and she is very nervous. There are disinfectant precautions in place and although she has not stipulated, she would prefer that people did not bring dogs so we have decided to put ours in kennels for that weekend. It is important that you tell her if you have been in contact with any farm animals however. The facilities are not as good as the other site but we have stayed there before and it is convenient provided you take oxygen for the hill climb on the way back after a night in the village. Telephone numbers are Middlewood, 01947880414 and hook House 01947880283. hope to see some of you there!!!
