Yes, there is a broad spectrum of responses among persons allergic to something. I have a friend who is allergic to virtually anything from the sea - fin fish, shell fish, "sea salt", anything with anchovie paste in it, etc. I have known others who seemed to have far more specific allergies to "sea things". I even knew a lad who had developed an allergic response to alchohol. Now that would be a serious malady. Generally, allergies of many different sorts play a far greater - and often undiagnosed - role in the maladies of man than is generally recognized.
