Pronuciation of Irish is hard to explain. You'd have to take a beginner's course on it. It starts with letters having a different sound than in English or in French, I assume. Mixing letters do strange things, but being French, the vowel combinations should be relatively easy for you.

Do a search on Irish Language and you should be able to find some information to start you off.

Oh, I just remembered, the pronunciation problem is also compounded by the fact that Irish had a "spelling reformation" back in the mid-fifties.
