What I meant to say was that the original question was dealt with by Jeremiah, Philibuster & me. Remember the line from "Hunting of the Snark"--"What I tell you three times is true."

I have no quarrel with processes like the one in Jande's post, which BTW was a gem. FS, however, isn't content with the applications; it also posits the existence of spiritual forces (subterranean dragons, etc.) which supposedly cause all this. Maybe there are three options. The unfree soul walks only on the straight path laid out by THE AUTHORITIES and never dares stray. The semi-free soul follows a more pleasant route but passes the buck to spiritual forces for making the decision for them. This is still bondage, or at least the use of a crutch. If you are free of conventions you take a pleasant path and own the decision yourself, saying, "I liked that," not "Terrestrial dragons made me do it."
