Jande - the version of "I live not where I love" is sung by Malcolm from Strawhead, and it's definately from the soldiers point of view, but I have heard other versions of it with the words slightly altered so it could be from a woman's point of view. I tend to think of the Strawhead one as the definitive version only because it was the first one I heard and I loved it.
