Well, it's not a misspelling story, but there's one sign that stands out in my memory:

A few years ago, upon entering Georgia just south of Chattanooga, we turned off for a bite to eat in Fort Oglethorpe (also the location of Chickamauga Battlefield).

We'd been noticing for some time the masses of kudzu vines covering everything--electric poles, trees, billboard stanchions, you name it--it was ubiquitous.

Driving along the little road leading to Ft. Oglethorpe, I noticed a small sign, itself a mass of vines, along the side of the road. Barely visible through the kudzu leaves was the legend Kudzu Control Area
