Amergin--Did you catch "Guns of the South"?? (Cover shows Lee with an AK-47 assault rifle.) The South wins in that one, but of course there are complications. I think that was the origin to the "alternative universe WW I" thing you're into. I've got my eye on that but haven't started it yet. Best alternative hist. short I ever read was called "He Walked Around the Horses." Napoleonic Wars never happened. Well done, I thought.
