I was WA3HST (Hawaiian Surfing Team--I must have been prescient!), got my novice in 1967 and managed to pass the reactivated Advanced class test the next year--skipped right over General! In high school I was a member of the Germantown Radio Club in Philadelphia, "the largest all-licensed amateur radio club in the US." We were K3YFD and K3MTK, for the old-timers who may remember us from contests...K3MTK ran a kilowatt on just about every band, out of an old UHF TV station on Gaffney Hill outside of Philadelphia. Now that was DX heaven! I've occasionally thought about getting back into it, but other interests always seem to get in the way. It sure was lots of fun, though.

Aloha,
