Just a fast note for those in, near or passing through New York City to say that the Tuesday evening Sea Music Concerts at South Street Seaport Museum in Manhattan have moved to a NEW LOCATION.Because of scheduling conflicts on Peking and on the pier, The New York Packet and guests are moving to the museum's new BEEKMAN ANNEX at 219 Water Street. Where is it? One block North of Fulton Street just past the Whitman and Melville Galleries or, to put it in a more mundane way, on the corner just behind Wendy's. Driving from out-of-town? Take the FDR Drive to the South Street exit.
The new space is not without its benefits. We will have shelter from potential storms, on-site M/F toilet facilities and GREAT ACCOUSTICS!
There will be no change to the concert schedule. Each evening features the museum's official sea music group, The New York Packet, with the following Spotlight Guests...
June 19 - Bonnie & Dan Milner - husband and wife team with a distinct blend of Irish immigrant and maritime songs
June 26 - Spindrift - shanties, tunes and great fun from from Long Island's East End
July 3 - No Concert
July 10 - Mark Maniak - folk songs of New York State and the port of New York
July 17 - The Fulton Ferry Amblers - banjo, fiddle, dulcimer with sea-related songs from the Appalachians to Scotland July 24 - Jerry Epstein - concertina whiz with a great store of maritime and lumbering songs
July 31 - Anne Price - a lovely voice with ballads ancient and modern
The series ends August 28th. Donation $3. Concerts start at 6PM sharp each Tuesday except July 3rd.
All the best,
Dan Milner
