One of my favourite pieces to play on the dulcimore is an old French tune called "Jean Petite Biron." Roger and I found it on some site linked in the Mudcat when I first started coming here. We were attracted to it because his mom was a Biron. We liked it so well we downloaded it and played it all of the time. It was really well sequenced, with electronic synthesizer made to sound like period instruments, very medievalish. If anyone wants to hear it I can email it.

Anyway, I've gone looking for more tunes like it and went to the French folk songs site in the Links and, either they've changed to all piano midis or we are remembering incorrectly and that is not where we found it. I also thought I might have found it at Bruce Olson's Scarce songs, but I don't see any French one there and no midis.

Do any of you recall any other sites which did great sequencing and had OLD French tunes?
