I heard at beautiful, probably Irish, song several years ago, possibly at Milwaukee Irish Fest, that was about 2 people parting in silence and tears. The song was about an illicit relationship with either a married person or a priest/nun. I have a bit of it on tape, but not all of it.

The first two lines were: When we two parted in silence and tears How broken hearted to sever for years.. and the last verse was : In secret we met, in silence I grieve that my heart should confess and my spirit deceive And if I should meet thee after long, long years Tell me how should I greet thee? But with silence and tears.

It's not the song Solas has on their newest CD, though it may be another version. Does anyone know the rest of the lyrics for this song, (it had 4 verses) and who might have recorded it?
