I have somewhat mixed feelings about responding to this thread. As a parent of a child with Down Syndrome, the PC name for 'mongoloid', I don't know that I could ever sing this song - I have a version sung by Paddy Reilly. Like many parents in this situation I would prefer to concentrate on realising the true potential. I can appreciate however how as a new parent, the future can initially appear quite bleak.

Without getting too carried away about the achievements of my 9 year old son, I wonder whether Phil would now approach the song more as 'Scorn Not/Enjoy His Diversity'.
