Thread Name: Lyr Req: The Tower (Chris de Burgh)
Subject: A great lord came walking through the forest
I need the name of the song, who recorded it and the words if anyone had them. I hear this song in the early 70's and the singer reminded me of Cat Stevens. I just couldn't track it down. The first 2 verses are: A great lord came walking through the forest one morning with a weapon in his hand. Rich was his castle, he lacked for nothing, killing was his plan. Well a white bird flew by, she fell from the sky, nothing was found only blood on the ground. She is gone.

Cursing his fortune, he turned to the forest, to kill once again. standing before him was a lovely young woman with her hand hung in pain. When he saw her his eyes filled with desire, He said I must have her,---she must be mine. She will be mine.

Thanks in advance. You have always come through. Reta
