Clinton, that is some story!! Now, why don't you go back to the new owner, and offer to do a few sets for free? Bring all of your friends, and their friends, too. Fill the place, the guy will do a great business and will beg you to come back. I know you said he's not planning anything folkie right now, but perhaps you can get him to have a folk night, say, one night a week. Offer him three weeks for free and see how it goes.
