Thread Name: What makes a good bawdy lyric ?
Subject: RE: BS: What makes a good bawdy lyric ?
Bawdy avoids the squirmy words and uses euphemisms, or telegraphs the rhyme and them substitutes. It's like wearing clothes, just about everyone does and we all know whats underneath but we don't like to see it all the time. But a hint of it .......... Crude uses THE words but if it were that simple I'd be rich the audience make a good bawdy song, and unmake it. It depends on the songs before and after, the weather (ozone make people agressive) and probably the world news that night. "context" is the word I am struggling for. Well that's my %, I find my risque songs can bomb even without known factors to cause it.
