I missed a great occasion there! The Canadian warship 'Fredericton' (hope it's spelled correctly) is just now lying in Kiel harbour with other Nato ships, and they had a huge celebration last night. I was invited 'cause I got to know two of the ship's crew last week. But with my usual sense of timing, I was down with migraine all day yesterday!
I asked the guys - both being from Halifax - did they know a song called 'Barratt's Privateers'? They started grinning from ear to ear and assured me their band would be playing it on Canada Day! Hope they and all Canadians had a great time!
