The Sharpes Rifles series are based on the writtings of a Rifleman Harris (also a character in the books) who was educated enough to keep a detailed diary of his campaigns. Harris was also lucky enough to survive long enough to leave a good record of what it was like to live during those years. The Sharpes videos also had Richard Rutherford Moore (Rifleman Moore) as a military advisor. He is responsible for the historic accuracy and detailed drill, uniforms and weapons, recreated for the movies. I highly recommend them to anyone. Yours, Aye. Dave
