Songs about respect?

There are many aspects to "respect" but in my "youth"
there was only one that mattered.

This song was as powerful as TNT.

Back in my day this tune's lyrics hit the point
dead-on regarding popular implications of "respect"
insofar as "youth" was concerned.

Tonight you're mine completely,
You give your love so sweetly,
Tonight the light of love is in your eyes,
But "Will You Love Me Tomorrow".

Shirelles, circa very early 60's, way-way pre-Beatles

On Motown, I'm pretty sure.

Swap "love" for "respect" and you have the complete
cultural package that dominated the amorous aspects
of my youth.

To be, or not to be, . . . . "knockedup, what else"!

We had no "AIDS" and acted as though immune to clap.

But the word "late" scared the crap out of us.

If you think about it, Redding's work could be a sort
of unfortunate sequel to this one.
