I was home recently and picked up the latest cd, "This is the day," from Christy Moore and I must say I think its great. There are only two tracks penned by the man himself; "Veronica", a song about the reporter Veronica Guerin who was murdered in Dublin and "Scallcrows." I really like the title track it conjures up images of the west of Ireland that I remember. "Jack Doyle," is another beautiful, haunting song. I think that he could have put a couple more tunes in that were maybe a little more upbeat but over all I think that Christy fans will be happy with it and if you're not familiar with his music then I think you should pick it up and check him out.
