I recorded the words from a couple of girl guides of the song "Shine Your Buttocks" they learned it from their guide mistress
Miss Red (before she faded) told me she used to sing it with her school chums (on the bus I assume). I have since heard versions from folkies who would have sung it in the 60's. I would deduce it is post war but may have originated earlier as "Shine your Buttons"
