I too have been disappointed by Christy's recent releases, but I might have to listen again.

I don't agree with you Tim, at least not with all. I agree with your assessment of his singing, the man was and is great. But of his own songs I always thought that the funny ones (Joxer, Knock, some talking blues pieces) were much better than average efforts and better than his serious songs.
