Here is my latest ebay offering titled: OLD CAT VIOLIN

This ~70 year old full size golden labeled 'German Strad' violin is customized by D.Hakman.

It is anathema to Dog lovers and could be described by them as such:

The tone is that of a heavenly hairball being gagged up by the gods. The sweet sonority is akin to the screetch of a cat in heat. Oh yes the scroll is of a cat staring you down as if to say "I meant that" or "what are you staring at". The sound has an independent quality that dominates over an ensemble that could pounce on your stand partner or scratch the nose of a violist on your left. The deep G string wafts a warm tone like a cat box in August. The breathtaking sound is like inhaling cat hair and trying not to cough. Stroke it with a bow and its back end goes up. The chin rest is as comfortable as being nursed by little needle like claws for no good reason. The purring sound is as comforting as a tickling whisker in your eye at 5 AM. Under the chin the sound is strong but one can detect something resembling meow? There is a 2 piece back in perfect condition with a downward V quality to the grain like Bush's smile. The seams and ribs are tight but have been glued 'on edge' to the lower edges of the back. The top has a repaired crack that is away from the scratching post. In lieu of a neck reset the fingerboard has been angled to provide a proper bridge height. With steel strings it has a wide eyed nervous power. With perlon strings it is warmer as if it has been lounging on top of the TV for hours.

To a cat lover this violin is simply adorable and is affectionately respondsive. There is a Cheshire cat seemingly stained into the wood of the upper back that only a cat lover can see by tilting it at certain angles as well as a portrait of a leopard on the tailpiece.
