The "Napoleon Crossing the Rhine" that I know (learned it from a banjo book) has little or nothing to do with Mick McGuire. The two recordings I have of it, one by the Clancys, the other an early recording (1932) by James Mullan, have nearly identical melodies and are very similar to the tune in the database for Hot Asphalt. So why does the database say Hot Asphalt has the tune of Napoleon Crossing the Rhine?
