From just east of you at Sandpoint, I took a train from Paradise to Butte (that lovely ride along the Clark Fork River) thinking I could go all the way back to Helena by rail. When I got to Butte, the conductor said service had been stopped to Helena just a few months before, and I had to race to the bus depot to make the connection. I hate the way the passenger trains have been eliminated here. My dream vacation this year would be to take that Empire Builder through Glacier Park.
