Nana Moskuri,Sings it as well as anyone I have heard. I also remember the history of the song as about two brothers imprisoned in Carlisle after the 1745 rebellion. One of the brothers is dying and he implies that he will take the low road, etc. Even if it is another folk song taking poetic lisence, the song takes a new meaning, espically when sung by Nana.
