Of course, you could always get a plain shirt and some fabric paints..... mask out the areas you don't want and paint the stripes on....I understand it is easier to get these things in the UK where we don't think of the Tshirt as an item of underwear.
And is there any evidence that sailors actually wore striped shirts at all? I know the square collars were to keep the pitch off their jackets from the club ended pigtails they had, but why striped shirts and bellbottoms? Surely the bellbottoms would make climbing the rigging difficult?
