Sadly I have just learned of the death of the great science fiction author Poul Anderson from cancer age 74. His first story was published as long ago as 1947 and his first novel in 1954. He has long been a giant in the field and much of his work appeared in the magazine "Astounding" (later Analog). He will be sorely missed by his many fans and my sincere condolences to his widow and daughter.
