I am very pleased to pass on some news. (I have no personal interest in it except pleasure and friendship.) At long last Cyril Tawney announces (well, Rosemary announces):Cyril's new CD is imminent. The Mystic Seaport Chanteymen jointly described Cyril to me as "the reigning sea god" and that, of course, is true. He's also a fine feller and scholar. I was most impressed the day he pointed out to me the hotel in Plymouth which carried a sign stating this was the very place the Mayflower crew stayed before sailing to America. (He also explained what was wrong with that claim.)
Anyway, "Navy Cuts" ADA 101 CD (own songs) remastered from his Sally Free and Easy cassette, plus 2 other tracks, 16 altogether. It will be available in US from Camsco (run by Dick Greenhaus, who will, he claims, get any in-print folk record.)
