I'm looking for the complete lyrics to a song my mother used to sing to me, called Little Black Me. The words to the chorus are:
"Mama, are there any angels black like me?
I've been as good as any little girl could be.
If I hide my face, do you think they will see?
I wonder if they'll find a place for Little Black Me."
It seems it was about a little black girl who was dying.
It holds much meaning for me. All those people that I remember knowing the song are gone now. Please help me find it. Thanks
