It's true that there are more traps being fished, and, as has always been the case, about 90% of the lobsters that have just reached legal size since their last shedding are caught each year, there is little room for them to be much more plentiful.For years the fishermen blamed the decline in lobster stocks on seals, but, seals are marine mammals, and protected, so, that theory went down the tubes. Now they blame the drop in cod on seals because they refuse to believe (or admit) that it is over fishing by humans that have killed the cod fishery. It's as that old Indian said "When the last tree has been cut down, when the last river is polluted, when the last fish has been caughtr, only then will you realize that you can not eat money."
