Just because your government refers to someone as an "enemy", does that mean it's necessarily true?

If so, then all those loyal Germans who went out between 1939 and 1945 on the word of Hitler's propaganda machine must have been doing exactly the wise and proper thing when they believed that the Poles, Danes, Norwegians, Dutch, French, Belgians, Greeks, British, Russians, Americans, Yugoslavs, Greeks, etc...were their ENEMIES!!!

And if so, then any German who opposed the Nazis was a rotten traitor, who ought to be brought to trial...never mind the passing of all these years. One does not forgive traitors!

I am, you see, using your own logic.

You suckers just can't seem to get the fact that the real enemy was not in Vietnam at all. The real enemy was in your own government, the Pentagon, and the White House...

They lied to you. They used you as cannon fodder. They interfered in the self-determination of a small Asian country, which would never have been divided and would never have had a civil war in the first place if the USA had not been mucking around in there, both during and after the French occupation of Indochina.

Face it guys. You were fooled. You were sent off to fight a war which was completely unjustified, and virtually unwinnable. Many of you died there. Uselessly!

The protestors were just trying to bring you home. The antiwar movement was, in fact, the only real friend you had back in the States.
