Thank you, Jeri- I didn't mean that you should try again! It's merely a matter of expression and phrasing, and it's hard to get that with abstract tones. Your pauses at the ends of lines helped- and there's also a lesser pause (for the commas, or to take a breath) in most of the mid-lines. e.g. Dear little son of mine-- Child on your knee-- etc. Just sing it sort of conversational!
