You will be amused, I think, by this brief story. When Bronson was planning his The Singing Tradition..., he wrote asking what criteria I thought he should use in making the selections. I replied, "Choose the most singable versions!" His response was "Oh, goodness! I don't want to produce a popular songbook!"

It was an honor to know him. He was a classic example of the true gentleman, in the best sense of the term.
