As I rode through Ennis in County Clare the week before last, I saw a sign that said "Spancilhill 8" - can't remember if it's miles or kilometers in the Republic of Ireland. I wanted to stop the bus and take a picture, but there wasn't time.
Our pastor went to secondary school in Ennis, and I asked him about Spancilhill. He said it's just an ordinary, nondescript Irish village, just like the village where he grew up. We visited his village, and it was beautiful - but all of Ireland is beautiful.
