Doc,I enjoyed your post immensely, and a lot of what you said connected-Especially when you mentioned your own daughters, and the fears that we parents have about their vulnerability--there is that intuitive reflex, when one child is missing, all parents are engaged, which is part of why we respond to this--even though on a rational level, we know that we can't contribute in any way to a resolution--
Anyway, politicians, when in Washington, have no privacy--there is no place that they can go without being recognized--"Guess who I saw a lunch?" is a stock conversation element--"Third, secret" locations are really risky, because there is more likely hood of drawing attention when a congressman is in a unusual place, home or office are the best places to avoid notice--after all, Congressmen have lots of visitors, but very few are visited by Congressmen--
