Thread Name: Trying to do it properly (viewing Mudcat)
Subject: RE: Trying to do it properly
I'm one of those Back button users. When I back up to the threads page, it does not automatically update. I have my browser set to check for a new version of a page "automatically," and I just tried it set on "every visit to the page." I still had to click "Refresh." I think the back button just sends you to the page stored in your cache.

If you post a message in the Help Forum use the back button and then go forward again, you WILL repost the message. The Help Forum is set up differently than the main forum. I think when you click "Forward," your browser performs the last action - "Submit Message." It doesn't do that in the main Forum - at least not with the way my computer's set up. I don't know if other browsers or other versions of MSIE might behave differently, or whether what happens is even up to the browser or is based on the way the Help or Main forum interprets what "Forward" means.

I haven't been around as long as Joe. Apparently, there were Back button problems before I arrived - maybe even after I joined, since I seem to remember screwing something up by using the back button. Perhaps they still exist and I just don't know about them, or perhaps Max changed something so it was less easy to mess up.
